Chinese Green Tea

The traces of Chinese Green Tea date back to the rule of Emperor Shen Nung about 4000 years back in the realms of history. The benefits of the Chinese Green Tea are associated with it because of the special brewing technique and the way it is grown and preserved. Unlike oolong tea, the Chinese green tea is steamed first to keep the polyphenol content of the tea in tact.

The antioxidants of the Chinese Green Tea help to fight away free radicals. It fights the degeneration of the skin cells that triggers the ageing of the skin. Other then this the polyphenols like EGCG help to fight rheumatic Arthritis, Alzheimer’s Disease and even cancer of skin, lungs, blood, esophageal and colon.

Chinese have been using green tea radicals and polyphenols for ages. The West has shown its interest in the Chinese Green tea after knowing that it helps to fight obesity and diabetes. The Chinese Green Tea also helps to fight high blood pressure and other irregularity in the blood circulation. The Chinese green tea is also known for its ability to combat tooth decay or any other orthopedic diseases.

There are several types of Chinese Green Tea according to the province they are grown. Firstly comes the Zhejiang province where about 355 of the total Chinese Green tea is grown. The primary green teas grown here are as follows: Longjing, it is the most famous green tea of this province. This tea is pan-fired and flat in appearance. It has a very rich aroma is specially known for the diat control regime. Gun powder is a popular tea of this region. Its name comes from the appearance of the tea. This tea is powdery unlike other green teas which are whole-leaved.

The province of Jiang-su the famous Bi lou Chun tea, which resembles conch meat in appearance. It has the richest floral aroma, fruity taste, showy white hair.

In the province of Hubei you would come across Yu Lu steamed tea which actually originated in Japan, the preparation resembles the Japanese green tea and the storage is much more intense than other Chinese Green Tea.

Henan province produces the famous Green tea tips also known as Xin Yang Mao Jian. The Green tip is very hairy in appearance and doesnot yield much liquor. In the provinces of Jiangxi and Anhhui you would come across the popular green tea brands like- Chun Mee, Dafang, Huangshang Maofeng, Huo Kui and Hyson.
